Credit Arrangements

Q1 ) A trainee served a 1 year term in the Furnishing Upholstery Fabrication Certificate II traineeship and a Statement of Attainment was issued as the trainee did not complete several modules, both core and industry sector. A certificate of completion has been issued. A VT5 has now been submitted for an apprenticeship in Upholstery for a 3 year term on the basis of the completion of the above traineeship.

The learner did not complete all modules during the traineeship, is he entitled to credit of 1 year for the traineeship when approving the apprenticeship term?

A1 ) No. No automatic credit or standardised credit has been established in relation to the furnishing traineeships. Any such applications would need to be assessed on their merits.
