VOCATIONAL TRAINING ORDER

The following Vocational Training Order is made under section 6 of the Apprenticeship and Traineeship Act 2001 in relation to the recognised trade vocation of Civil Construction (Design).

Citation

The Order is cited as the Civil Construction (Design) Order.

Order

The Order is given below.

(a) Term of training

(i) Full-time

Training shall be given for a nominal term of:

RII40306 Certificate IV in Civil Construction Design – direct entry	36 months
RII40306 Certificate IV in Civil Construction Design – where the apprentice holds one of: BCC30107 Certificate III in Civil Construction BCC30207 Certificate III in Civil Construction (Bituminous Surfacing) BCC30307 Certificate III in Civil Construction (Bridge Construction and Maintenance) BCC30407 Certificate III in Civil Construction (Foundation Work)BCC30507 Certificate III in Civil Construction (Pipe Laying) BCC30607 Certificate III in Civil Construction (Plant Operations) BCC30707 Certificate III in Civil Construction (Road Construction and Maintenance) BCC30807 Certificate III in Civil Construction (Road Marking) BCC30907 Certificate III in Civil Construction (Trenchless Technology) BCC31007 Certificate III in Civil Construction (Tunnel Construction) BCC31107 Certificate III in Civil Construction (Timber Bridge Construction and Maintenance)	30 months
RII50206 Diploma of Civil Construction Design – direct entry	36 months
RII50206 Diploma of Civil Construction Design – where the apprentice holds one of: RII40106 Certificate IV in Civil Construction Operations RII40206 Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision RII40306 Certificate IV in Civil Construction Design	30 months
RII60206 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design Management – direct entry	36 months
RII60206 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design Management – where the apprentice holds RII50106 Diploma of Civil Construction Management or RII50206 Diploma of Civil Construction Design	30 months

or until achievement of the relevant competencies to this Vocational Training Order is demonstrated.

(b) Probationary period

The probationary period, based on the nominal terms of training for the apprenticeships established under this Vocational Training Order, shall be three months.

Apprentices will be trained in and achieve the relevant competencies contained in RII06 Resources and Infrastructure Civil Construction Training Package.

(d) Courses of study to be undertaken

Apprentices will undertake a course of study from RII06 Resources and Infrastructure Civil Construction Training Package as follows:

RII40306 Certificate IV in Civil Construction Design
RII50206 Diploma of Civil Construction Design
RII60206 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design Management.

Date of effect

The Order will take effect from the day it is published in the NSW Government Gazette.

Availability for inspection

A copy of the Vocational Training Order may be inspected at any State Training Services Regional Office of the Department of Education and Training or see Apprenticeships and Traineeships.
