Acceptance of Applications for Trade Recognition in Trades Repealed on 9 May 1997

Issued: 1 April 2003

Persons who are able to provide evidence that they would have met training requirements and/or competency standards, prior to the publication of the Industrial and Commercial Training (Declared Trades) Order 1997 on 9 May 1997 for any repealed declared trade, may have their application for trade recognition in that trade considered by the Vocational Training Tribunal (VTT).

All applicants for trade recognition should be assisted in identifying the trade most aligned to their skills and in being made aware of the evidential requirements for recognition.

Where an application for trade recognition is lodged with an Industry Training Service Centre and an investigation and report by an Industry Training Adviser is considered to be of assistance to the VTT in its determination, the investigation and report should be completed before forwarding the application to the VTT.

PhoneFor any enquiries regarding these training arrangements, please contact the Vocational Training Tribunal on (02) 9266 8450.
